Valentine’s Day Cupcakes

When I cook, I go all out. There is no such thing for me as having friends over and making frozen pizza (heaven forbid!). For Valentine’s Day I made J vanilla cupcakes with salted caramel hearts and chocolate icing. I used this recipe but replaced milk chocolate for dark chocolate for the icing and simply added a spoon of my salted caramel before baking in the middle of each cupcake instead of the berries in the other recipe.

J is French and I’m Australian so the frog and koala seemed so appropriate. And funny!

  1. The frog and koala are just so cute. LOOKS DELISH.
    And that photostrip, AH!

  2. That’s so cute! I was going to make cupcakes today but decided to almost freeze to death during a stroll in Montmartre instead… ;)
    Have a nice weekend!

  3. Too yummy your cupcakes!! Well, Valentine’s was very nice here in Munich. I had my Parisian partner over in Munich and we prepared a French culinary treat (melted Mont d’Or cheese with white wine and cooked potatoes) and watched a French movie (La Délicatesse with Audrey Tautou). Voilà! :-)

    • Awww that’s so sweet! I think it’s important to spoil ones loved one even though it’s a hallmark created event, who cares, it’s all about love! Your meal sounds delicious :)

  4. Geez that looks so good! And I agree that Valentine’s day is still a good opportunity to remember why you’re in a relationship in the first place (true love for each other!). And because those little hearts made out of chemicals are just so damn good! :)
