Sam Lawrence: A rare talent

I met Sam years back through a childhood friend in Melbourne. In Melbourne, the live music scene is a lot bigger than it is here in Paris. It’s part of the culture and there is nothing better than going to a cosy bar or pub where there is great live and local group playing. I first saw Sam sing when he was in the band The Shades. For those of you in Melbourne, they are holding a gig tomorrow night in Melbourne town.

Sam has incredible talent, with so much soul and watching him sing live is enchanting.

Kimbra, for those of you who know her contribution to Gotye’s (another Australian) song Somebody That I Used to Know is a New-Zealand born singer. She is only 23, which is quite remarkable for the big, soulful voice her and her mature stage presence.

I was very suprised to come across wonderful Sam’s video on YouTube with Kimbra the other day here in Paris.

You can download four of his own songs here. I just purchased them and they’ve been on repeat all day. As a friend of Sam’s, I know that he would really appreciate the support as a young up-coming musician.

To keep in the loop, follow his facebook here. And my goodness, isn’t he a looker?! That precious face.

Enjoy, I hope to help Sam get some more supporters worldwide. Please let me know what you think of his music.

Happy Sunday to you all xo
